In January 1928, a remarkable business magazine was circulated amongst a small group of young professional people. This publication was known as 'Succes'. Compared to the dull literature of its genre, this Dutch business publication stood out because of its unique form and style. In 1933 the idea was born for a new type of diary. Its innovative loose-leaf design made it possible for users to permanently keep addresses and telephone numbers, notes and other data in the binder. The calendar section, used for recording dates and appointments, could be replaced annually. The diary could be organized and maintained according to each users' unique requirements. Moreover, thanks to its sturdy leather cover, the Succes Organizing System could be maintained by the user for many, many years.
